FAQs

Start times depend on current workload and the size of the project. We will provide an estimated start date at the time of quoting and keep clients updated if anything changes.

The renovation process for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries generally follows a clear sequence to ensure the work is well planned, coordinated and completed to a high standard.
It usually begins with an initial consultation and site visit, where we discuss your ideas, assess the existing space and understand your budget and priorities. From there, Ben will prepare a quote so you know exactly what is involved before any work begins.
Once approved, the planning stage includes finalising layouts, selecting materials and fixtures, and recommending any required trades such as plumbing, electrical and tiling. We then schedule the work and organise materials so everything is ready for construction to begin.
The construction phase starts with demolition and preparation, followed by any necessary carpentry, structural adjustments, plumbing and electrical rough-ins. After that, waterproofing, tiling, cabinetry and fixture installation take place, followed by painting and final finishing touches.
Throughout the process, we keep you updated on progress and communicate clearly if anything unexpected arises. Our goal is to ensure the renovation runs smoothly, stays on track, and results in a functional, well-finished space that suits your home and lifestyle. -
If the project involves other trades such as plumbers, electricians, tilers, plasterers, painters etc Ben will recommend trusted tradies.

Yes. We take on a mix of smaller carpentry work through to renovations. Every job is considered based on scope, practicality and scheduling. In between larger projects, Ben completes smaller jobs such as hanging doors, installing windows, repairing decks, installing cabinetry and many other carpentry tasks.
-
If unforeseen issues arise during construction, Ben will discuss them with you before any additional work is carried out. You will always be informed and given clear options before proceeding.
-
Pricing is based on the scope of work, materials, site conditions and complexity of the project. Every carpentry project is different, so Ben will provide transparent, fair quotes tailored to each job.

Yes. Older homes often require a different approach to a standard renovation. We have experience working with existing timber structures, weatherboard homes, original features and the quirks that come with older Blue Mountains houses. Where heritage requirements apply, we can work with the relevant plans, approvals and other trades involved in the project.
-
Yes. We build new timber decks as well as repair, replace and renovate existing decks. We can help with timber selection, design, structural requirements and finishing, with consideration given to the conditions of the Blue Mountains.

There isn't one timber that's best for every deck. The right choice depends on appearance, budget, durability, maintenance requirements, fire risks and the conditions of the site. We can discuss options such as treated pine and hardwood decking and recommend a suitable material for your project.
